A: The overlap of anxiety and autism

Q: What is exciting in your work right now?

A: Our research on the cognitive mechanisms of anxiety in autism is turning out to have useful clinical applications. Our research might be directly helping people.

Q: What is your favorite "fun fact" about the brain?

A: Nobody can quite agree on how the amygdala affects social emotional processing.

Q: When I am not teaching classes I like to...

A: Play soccer and eat proper pizza. "Proper" pizza is obtained in New Haven, Connecticut.

A: There is no sensible explanation for the unusual spelling of my first name.
