A: While the brain allows us to learn and do things, the things we do an learn also change the brain. "That which we persist in doing becomes easier, not that the task itself has become easier, but that our ability to perform it has improved" -Ralph Waldo Emerson.

Q: What is your area of research?

A: Changes in brain structure and behavior following traumatic brain injury.

Q: What is exciting in your work right now?

A: I'm excited about some of our research findings that show how events early in life affect brain structural development.
